10 Steps to Better Sex
Armed with expert advice from the book Yes! Yes! Yes!, published by Company magazine, here is a frank and friendly manual for the bedroom. And, while it’s intended for women, we felt it was a shame not to let guys have some fun, too…
1. Be happy in your body. It doesn’t matter what size or shape you are, if you’re having sex, someone must find you attractive.
Some of the world’s greatest lovers did not fit into the perfection category — Casanova, Mata Hari and Napoleon all broke the mold.
Bear in mind what some of the greatest screen sirens said in their heyday. Brigitte Bardot, whose bra size was a modest B, said, “I think I’m lousy looking.”
2. Get in the mood. The best way to set the scene for a blockbusting sex session is to dress like a movie star.
A simple way to be sexy every day? Buy stockings instead of tights. Wear fishnets or get the sheerest tights you can find.
3. Sexercise. There are specific workouts you can do to keep yourself supple and frisky. Tantric sex, which uses yoga postures to heighten arousal, is popular with bedroom gymnasts and what better way to work up a sweat than with a lover.
4. Play games. Role playing can be an instant turn-on.
It’s often a case of the naughtier a scenario, the better, though “Master and Servant” might take a bit of effort if you live in a semi-detached house in the suburbs.
You could also imagine your life is being filmed and you are the two main characters in a movie.
A word of caution though: Don’t actually film your lovemaking. Think of the embarrassment if you break up and the footage ends up on the Web.
5. Don’t fake an orgasm. Not only will you feel cheated, so will your partner. If you’re lucky enough to be making love to someone you love, focus on the fact that you’re having the most intimate experience possible with a person who is your soul mate.
6. Live in the moment. Sometimes in a fling it’s easier to be yourself when you don’t care what
the other person thinks of you. But if they’re not worth it, why are you with them in the first
place? Life is too short. If, after reading 20 sex tips from the
experts, you are still saying “no, no, no”, it’s time to learn “50 Ways
to Leave Your Lover.”
7. Make eye contact during lovemaking. The windows to the soul
can be the sexiest part of the body. Hold the gaze and feel that
electricity. This can be so sexy, you don’t even have to make love to
have an orgasm. When you have chemistry with someone, you know
instantly.
8. Kiss. And not just on the lips. Tantalize your
partner with thousands of little kisses, then move on to more lingering
ones. Orgasm guaranteed.
9. Be spontaneous. Don’t save sex for nighttime. If
you fancy a quickie on your lunch break, just do it. And don’t take it
all too seriously — it’s meant to be fun.
10. Keep the romance alive. Whether it’s scented
candles or a sexy dress that takes him ages to peel off, you need to
set the mood for the kind of sex you both want.
11. Practice safe sex. Putting on a condom can be a
sexy experience if you do it together. But be careful with those long
fingernails. A silky glove is one way to prevent ripping and spoiling
what could have been a sizzling night.
